Answers to common questions about Cruse Control

What is Cruse Control?

Cruse Control is a driving-hours tracker that helps learner-permit holders log supervised driving sessions. You can track total time, night-driving time, and bad-weather time, all against your state's permit requirements.

How do I track a driving session?

From the home screen, tap Start to begin a session. Choose your supervisor (Mom, Dad, Other, or a name you've used before). The timer runs in the background — you can lock your phone or switch apps and time will continue to be counted. Tap Pause if you stop driving for a break, then Resume when you continue. When the drive is finished, tap Save to log the session.

How do I log a drive I forgot to track?

Tap Add Drive on the history screen. Enter the date, duration, supervisor, and any condition tags (night, weather), then save. The session will be added to your log.

How do I edit or delete a session?

On the drive history screen, tap any session to open the edit view. From there you can change the duration, supervisor, conditions, or delete the session entirely. Deletions cannot be undone, but you can re-add a drive manually if needed.

How is night driving counted?

Night driving is tracked with a separate timer that you start by tapping the Night button. You can tap it before you start the main session (it will queue up and begin counting once the drive starts), or any time during the drive once it gets dark. Tap it again to stop the night timer without ending the overall session. Night minutes are saved alongside the session and count toward your state's separate night-driving requirement.

You can also adjust night minutes manually when adding or editing a session.

How is bad-weather driving counted?

Weather driving is tracked with a separate timer that you start by tapping the Rain/Snow button. You can tap it before you start the main session (it will queue up and begin counting once the drive starts), or any time during the drive when the weather turns bad. Tap it again to stop the weather timer without ending the overall session. Weather minutes are saved alongside the session and count toward your state's bad-weather driving requirement (where applicable).

You can also adjust weather minutes manually when adding or editing a session.

How do I change my state?

Tap the state name on the progress dashboard. You'll see a list of US states — choose yours and the app will update to show that state's permit hour requirements. You can change this at any time without affecting your logged sessions.

Does my driving log sync between devices?

Yes. Your data is stored in your account, so signing in on a new device — phone, tablet, or web — will load all of your sessions automatically. Make sure you sign in with the same Google or Apple account you used originally.

How do I sign in?

Cruse Control supports Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple. Both options collect only your name and email address — Apple's option also lets you keep your email private using their relay service. Choose whichever you prefer on the sign-in screen.

How do I export my driving log?

From the drive history screen, use the export option to generate a PDF of your sessions. The PDF includes total hours, night hours, weather hours, supervisor names, and dates — useful for handing to a parent, instructor, or your state's DMV.

How do I remove ads?

Tap Remove Ads at the bottom of the home screen. This is a one-time in-app purchase that disables banner and interstitial ads across the app on the same Apple ID.

I already paid to remove ads on another device — how do I restore the purchase?

Tap Remove Ads and then choose Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase. The app will check with the App Store and re-enable the ad-free experience.

How do I delete my account?

Visit the Account & Data Deletion page to submit a deletion request, or email us at 16648dev@gmail.com. We'll permanently remove your account and all associated driving sessions. This action cannot be undone.

Is my data private?

Yes. We don't sell or share your personal data with third parties. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
